OK, your network is Modbus RTU RS-485 and your device is LonWorks.

The Babel Buster 485-DS is a specially programmed version of the original Babel Buster 485. This allows you to effectively turn a LonWorks device into a Modbus RTU slave. If you are not intimately familiar with LonWorks, we encourage you to choose this model over the standard version.

The standard Babel Buster 485 will physically connect the two, and with proper configuration, get the two talking. There is one problem: You need to have Echelon's LonMaker (or equivalent) to bind the network variables between the LonWorks device and the gateway. If you do not have LonMaker and the training to use this network management tool, you cannot use this gateway.
