OK, your network is Modbus RTU RS-232 and your device is LonWorks.

The Babel Buster 232 will physically connect the two, and with proper configuration, get the two talking. There is one problem: You need to have Echelon's LonMaker (or equivalent) to bind the network variables between the LonWorks device and the gateway. If you do not have LonMaker and the training to use this network management tool, you cannot use this gateway.
