I/O, gateways, and more for Modbus!
Control Solutions BAS-700 series I/O modules can now be used for Modbus RTU over RS-485.
BAS-7030 Processor Module

The BAS-7030-RS processor is used to create Modbus RTU modular I/O.

• Microchip PIC18 processor with 128K Flash
• RS-232 and RS-485 serial ports
• ICD debug port for customization (optional)
• 5V 2A onboard power supply, 24V AC/DC in

Modbus RTU RS-485

Modbus by the Module has expanded to include Modbus RTU RS-485. Access a configurable array of I/O via RS-485.

Configuration

We do not currently support an off-the-shelf configuration based on the BAS-7030 as a Modbus RTU Slave. (We do support the 7030 as an RTU Master, functioning as a gateway on a BAS-7050 hosted system.) If you are simply looking for Modbus I/O, we suggest the AddMe III instead.

The goal of the BAS-7030-RS is to allow engineers to do rapid prototyping of PIC18 based I/O.

BAS-7030-RS

Modbus RTU Slave version of BAS-7030 is used to create stand-alone Modbus I/O

BAS-7030-RM

Modbus RTU Master version of BAS-7030 is used to create an RTU gateway for i.CanDoIt on the BAS-7050.

Customize Modbus RTU RS-485

Modbus by the Module can be customized with application software, or even custom hardware. In fact, the BAS-7030 processor board with the PIC18F8722 and the BAS-700 series I/O can be used for rapid prototyping of a variety of controllers even if Modbus is not needed.

The BAS-7030 includes a debug port for the Microchip ICD2 in-circuit emulator pod. Use MPLAB and your choice of C compilers for development. We provide I/O drivers and customizable Modbus RTU core in source code form as a starting point for your customization. We also offer fee based engineering services to do the customization for you if desired.
