Control Solutions’ Model ZB25-T is a ZigBee® wireless temperature sensor, and Model ZB25-TH is a ZigBee® wireless combination temperature and humidity sensor. These sensors are battery operated for completely wire-free installation. The sensors are enclosed in an aesthetically pleasing neutral color wall mount enclosure.
The ZB25 sensors spend most of their time sleeping, waking up periodically to transmit data. The transmission takes only milliseconds with minimal power. When properly configured, battery life will be over 240,000 transmissions. Battery life is approximately 2.3 years with transmission once every 5 minutes. The ZB25 sensors will transmit data to any ZigBee PRO coordinator such as Control Solutions’ Babel Buster BB2-6040 or BB2-7040. The Babel Buster gateways will collect sensor data and provide that data to either a Modbus or BACnet network. These gateways can also send data to a central server using HTTP client push. Indoor range is typically 130 feet. Outdoor line-of-sight range is specified as up to 400 feet. Actual range depends on obstructions between transmitter and receiver. When range is insufficient due to either distance or obstructions, a router is used as an RF repeater to extend range. Control Solutions’ ZB25-R Router is used for this purpose. The ZB25-R is powered by an external 24V power supply since a router must be always on. Multiple routers can be used to extend range even further.
