There are typically two questions that remote monitoring seeks to ask: (1) Is anything wrong? (2) Is something about to go wrong?
Event based remote monitoring will constantly look at data points that provide answers to those questions, and notify you via email or cell phone when you need to know.
The other application for remote monitoring is long term trending or performance monitoring. Nothing is really wrong one way or the other, but you want to see some history. Trend monitoring will periodically record data points and archive them in a database. You access that database at your convenience via a dedicated web site.
Control Solutions' LogMyData.Com has invested in the development of its own web portal for global use in a variety of applications. LogMyData also works with third parties who are developing their own specialized portal. If we see that your application falls into one of those specialized areas, we will refer you to them. Most general applications are served well by our own web portal.
LogMyData.Com is willing to provide monitoring services for just a few devices or thousands of devices. We provision our servers in top data centers around the country. Our servers are well connected, well protected, and backed up indefinitely.
The LogMyData Web Portal provides a central site to monitor all of your remote sites. Access the central site from anywhere in the world.
LogMyData will send you emails, or text messages to your cell phone, when an event you want to know about has occurred. LogMyData can even call you with a voice message to tell you what has occurred.

What's unique about LogMyData.com?
Extereme Flexibility!
If you have a sensor that generates an industry standard output, LogMyData can monitor it. Do you need to apply a special algorithm to derive useful data from your sensor? Our monitoring devices are programmable. Write a Basic program using the Script Basic built into some devices, or graphical programming for the PLC capability in others. Does your device talk Modbus or LonWorks or BACnet? LogMyData can monitor it! Does your device talk some funky proprietary ASCII protocol over RS-232? LogMyData can monitor that, too, with a little help from a script written in Script Basic. Although the LogMyData web portal is geared toward mostly receiving data from remote sites, it can push data back out, too. Via the web portal, you can change setpoints, do a remote start on a generator, clear counters, or even upload a new Basic program.
How does the web portal work?
You will receive your own subdomain and account login on one of our servers. Once devices are commissioned, they will begin reporting data, and sending you notifications when there is an event you want to know about. You may have multiple users, and you may direct notifications of certain events to certain users or user groups.
The devices will continuously monitor data and periodically report data to the server. When an event occurs, the device will contact the server immediately. The server will then check its database to see who wants to know about this event. The server will send notifications to cell phones or email addresses.
Applications include stationary and mobile equipment. Mobile capabilities include GPS tracking and geo-fencing. In addition to other events, you will receive a notification if the equipment leaves its assigned location. When you move equipment to a new location, you simply log in and tell the server that this is where it should be now. You can check the location of your equipment at any time by logging in and viewing the Google Maps powered dashboard.
