Power Monitoring via SNMP (or Modbus TCP)
Network connections and initial startup
If you have not previously powered up the X2, follow these “connect to network” directions.
To use the WattNode, be sure you have Model BBX2-LON av2.56a nv2.11 showing on the home page. You need av2.56a or later and nv2.11 or later to properly interface to a WattNode.
Powering up the Babel Buster X2: The yellow & green LEDs on the RJ-45 jack stay on for a while, then green goes off (flashes with network activity). The yellow Link LED will stay on (if not, check your Ethernet connection). Eventually the COM LED (below RJ-45 jack) will flicker yellow a number of times. When the COM LED stops, the unit is fully booted up.
Connect the WattNode. To test the network connection, you only need to supply one phase of power, and do not need CT connections at all. Connect the two FT10 terminals of WattNode to the two LON terminals of Babel Buster X2.
If WattNode has never been commissioned before, the red Service LED will blink continuously. However, if you do not see the red LED, press the service button on the side next to the FT10 terminal block to check for operation. If the red LED comes on when you press the button, you are powered up and ready to go. The lack of blinking simply means the WattNode has previously been commissioned, and this will not stop you from re-commissioning it.
