Saving your configuration

Important: When you click the Update button an any web page, that is simply sending data from your browser back to a temporary copy in the Babel Buster X2. If you want to save those changes permanently, so that they are restored after power-up, you must save your changes to the configuration file stored in Flash memory.

Find your way to the Config File page, and click Save.

The file named in the Boot configuration window is the file that will be automatically loaded the next time power is cycled. Therefore you will want to select this file when saving (if more than one are available).

You can load multiple configuration files and selectively load alternate configurations. Be sure to save your changes to the correct file.

Copying your configuration: If you want to configure multiple devices the same way, you only need to set up the first one manually. Once you have saved your configuration, select that file name and click the View button. When the XML page comes up in your browser, select your browser's "save page as" function to store the XML file on your PC. Now, on the second device, click the Browse button, find that file back on your PC, and click Upload. (Once uploaded, you must click the Load button to cause that configuration file to take effect.)

IMPORTANT: Your browser likes to do you too many favors. If you have previously viewed the XML configuration file, and then made changes and re-saved the file, your browser will show you the old file when you click View. You must delete your browser's temporary files (or clear the cache in Firefox) before you will get the updated file.
